I have replaced the purge control solenoid/valve and the problem recurs occasionally. Doing this, i have 6 monitors ready, and 1 monitor not ready. Evap (charcoal canister), gas cap, purge valve, purge valve solenoid, vent valve, leak detector pump, fuel tank pressure sensor, level sending unit, multiple hoses connecting it all, etc. After that i scanned the car with obd2 and now what's left is the evap monitor not being ready.
Technically, ny state allows 1 monitor to be not ready, but i was wondering if evap being not ready would.

I believe you are allowed to have one rediness check not ready and still pass. Seems likw they legislated a law without making sure it was not going to really hurt people. If after completing the drive cycle your silverado will still not complete any or all the. My mechanic also didn't charge me for it either. The not ready code is because some sensor in your evap system hasn't reported an acceptable value to the ecu, so the status can't go to ready.
